Physical performers required for our busy pantomime tour. Will suit those who enjoy the challenge of daily touring to a variety of venues. Please be not afraid of hard work. All members of the company will share some stage management duties including get ins/outs. Our pantomimes are pieces of theatre first and foremost and are 100% family friendly. All cast sing and move in fully choregraphed routines. Directed and choreographed by the same team as our static shows. North West England-based performers preferred. Aladdin – Traditional Principal Boy. Excellent singing and movement skills. Great audience appeal and rapport. Male or Female. Female performers should be ideally used to working/dancing in heels. Age 21 – 35.


Wishee Washee – Traditional Pantomime comic. Very physical performer. Good singing and movement skills. Additional circus or acro skills desirable but not essential. Excellent audience appeal and rapport. Great comic timing. Male or Female. Age 21 – 40.


Widow Twankey – Traditional Pantomime Dame. Larger than life character. Great audience appeal and rapport. Good comic timing. Good singing and movement skills. Male or female. Age 25 – 50.


Abanazer – Traditional pantomime villain. Must be a huge character and very physical performer. The one the audience love to hate. Great singing and movement skills. Excellent audience rapport. Male. Age 21 - 50.


Princess Jasmine – Traditional pantomime princess but with a strong personality. Great singing and movement skills. Huge audience appeal. Female. Age 21 - 30


Emperor/Genie of the Lamp – Dual role. Emperor – traditional father role. Genie – Physical and charismatic. Circus or acro skills useful but not essential. Great audience rapport and appeal for both characters. Male. Age 25 – 50.


Fairy of the Ring – Traditional pantomime good Fairy. Great audience rapport. Good singing and movement skills. Can be played in a variety of ways so would suit character performers of all types. Female. Age 21 – 40.

THE STORYTELLERS THEATRE COMPANY


The Storytellers Theatre Company is branch of Pendle Productions specialising in two-handed theatrical adaptations of classics and original stories. 


Opportunities - Ongoing. The work is extremely rewarding as well as hard, and allows a performer to explore their own skills and play roles that they may not usually play. Most pieces involve both performers playing multiple characters. Productions are fast-paced and range from dramas, through plays with music to full musical shows. Usually, performers are required to learn multiple shows. All performers must be very physical and have good singing and movement skills. They must be able to engage with an audience and have great rapport and appeal. Both performers on a production will be required to set up and take down the show and operate their own sound. Full instruction is provided. Performances take place in all types of venues – schools, theatres, arts centres, libraries etc as well as outdoors during the Summer months. Pendle Productions work alongside theatres and arts organisations which creates opportunities for further diverse work outside the Storytellers.

THE ELVES & THE TOYMAKER


Male and Female performers required for this two-handed musical production. Physical performers with strong personalities, good singing voices and good movement skills. Not afraid of hard but rewarding work. Ability to play multiple characters. Touring to mainly schools in December. Shared stage management duties including get ins/outs. Full UK driving license holders (for at least one year) and confident drivers preferred. Auditions and rehearsals are held in NORTH WEST ENGLAND. Performer 1 – Female. Physical performer with good singing voice and movement skills to play multiple roles. Not afraid of hard touring work with stage management duties with get ins/outs. Full UK driving license (held for at least one year) and confident driver preferred. Age 21 - 40.

Male and Female performers required for this two-handed musical production. Physical performers with strong personalities, good singing voices and movement skills. Commedia/Mime skills an advantage. Not afraid of hard but rewarding work. Ability to play multiple characters. Touring to mainly schools in December. Shared stage managements duties including getins/outs. Full UK driving license (held for at least one year) and a confident driver preferred. Auditions and rehearsals are in NORTH WEST ENGLAND. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND ONLY SUBMIT IF SUITABLE The producers of the original production of Billy Elliot the Musical have launched a nationwide search for children to play the roles of Billy, Michael and Debbie in a new run of the multi-award-winning show. With the dates, location and full details of the production’s upcoming run to be revealed at a later date, the open casting call is aimed at boys aged nine to 14 and girls aged nine to 12. Launching the talent search, casting director Jessica Ronane said: “We are delighted to be starting a new nationwide search to find our next generation of boys to play Billy Elliot. Following in the footsteps of some of the most beloved stars whose careers were launched by this extraordinary production.” Boys hoping to win the roles of Billy and Michael should be under five foot tall with unchanged voices. Possessing tap and ballet experience would be a ‘bonus but is not essential’. Girls hoping to play Debbie should have ballet experience and must be from the North East of England.
