SEEKING: 
PRINCIPALS: Strong Singer/Actors with ability to sing both muscical theater and pop. Principals (Featured and Lead Vocalists) hired for CATS (3-4 performances weekly) will also perform in our Signature Production Show onboard the Oasis of the Seas, TOUCH THE SKY (3-4 performances weekly). Movement or dance ability a plus. Candidates must be available and willing to travel internationally aboard our ships. We welcome performers of all gender identities, abilities/exceptionalities, and body types.

ENSEMBLE: Dancer/Singers with strong technical dance abilty. Ensemble hired for CATS (3-4 performances weekly) will also perform in our Signature Production Show onboard the Oasis of the Seas, TOUCH THE SKY (3-4 performances weekly). The ability to sing both musical theatre and pop is an asset. Candidates must be available and willing to travel internationally aboard our ships. We welcome performers of all gender identities, abilities/exceptionalities, and body types. 

OPEN CALL INFORMATION: 

Principals: Prepare two songs - one traditional musical theater and one pop/rock.

Ensemble: Please come prepared to dance first. Also prepare a 16 bar cut of a pop/rock song.

Bring headshot, resume, and personal songbook in case you are asked to sing something different. 

Rehearsals: 7/11/24 - 9/7/24
Contract: 9/8/24 - 5/25/25

SEEKING:

PRINCIPAL SINGERS

Seeking excellent singers and actors with Pop/Rock, R&B, Contemporary Musical Theatre, and Jazz vocal styles. Dance ability is a plus.

DANCERS & DANCER/VOCALISTS

Seeking versatile dancers with strong technique in ballet and jazz as well as ability to sing Pop/Rock, R&B, Contemporary Musical Theatre, and Jazz vocal styles. Tap dancing, tumbling, and aerial skills are a plus.

CASTING FOLLOWING ROLES:

GRIZABELLA (FEATURED SINGER)

Female, playing age 35 – 55.

Grizabella is a survivor, but she is vulnerable, and now outcast from the tribe. She was once very glamorous, but with age her beauty is fading. Sings “Memory”. An exceptional singer/actress with sensational, powerful vocals needed. Must possess a wide dynamic vocal range with rich lower tones, and wonderful high belt to Eb. 

OLD DEUTERONOMY (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, playing age 35 – 55.

Old Deuteronomy is the beloved leader of the tribe. Should possess excellent high baritone/tenor vocals to G# with classical sound & vocal warmth. Must be able to express authority, dignity, wisdom, and humility – also great warmth and fun. Small amount of movement required.

JELLYLORUM (FEATURED SINGER)

Female, playing age 25 – 45. 

Jellylorum is practical and loving; a storyteller. Sings “Gus the Theatre Cat” with Gus. Strong pop belt voice with the ability to also sing classical 1st. Must have a crystal clear top Db. Very good movement and comedy skills.

GUS (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, playing age 31 – 55. 

Gus is the theatre cat – a fragile old cat who reminisces about his days of being an actor. A fantastic character actor/singer role. Strong high baritone/tenor to G# and movement skills are a plus.

JENNYANYDOTS (FEATURED SINGER)

Female, playing age 25 – 45. 

Jennyanydots is the ‘Gumbie Cat’. Motherly, an Edwardian ‘do-gooder’. A comedic character actress with excellent movement and tap dancing skills. Strong singer with high Db. 

RUM RUM TUGGER (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, playing age 25 – 35. 

Rum Tum Tugger is the ‘rock-star’ cat, with wild comedic sexuality. Must be a charismatic performer with a fantastic pop/rock voice and strong falsetto (able to improvise and ad-lib vocally). An outstanding presence with good dance skills. Ideally over 5’ 10” tall. 

MUNKUSTRAP (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, playing age 25 – 35. 

A commanding presence. The son of Old Deuteronomy, who takes the lead in his absence. Sings “Old Deuteronomy”. Excellent baritone singer with good float ability in upper range. Excellent movement/dance skills required. Ideally over 6’ tall.

SKIMBLESHANKS (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, playing age 25 – 35. 

Skimbleshanks is the railway cat – a fastidious, neat and ordered cat, obsessed with punctuality and cleanliness. He possesses a big heart and a sense of exuberance - authoritative with a bright personality. An excellent high baritone/tenor with very strong dance skills required. Maximum height 5’ 10”.

BOMBALURINA (FEATURED SINGER)

Female, Playing age 25 - 35. 

Tall and statuesque, a lightly sexual female, who is also a fierce protector of the tribe. One half of the duo who sings 'Macavity'. Must be an excellent and experienced dancer with fantastic extension. An excellent mezzo soprano. Minimum height 5’ 8”.

MR. MISTOFFELEES (DANCER/VOCALIST – MUST ATTEND DANCE CALL)

Male, Playing age 20 - 32. 

Mr. Mistoffelees is the magician – impish, with an expansive personality. Must be a phenomenal principal dancer with outstanding classical technique, who can execute multiple turns in à la seconde effortlessly. Gymnastic skills and tricks a plus. Good high baritone vocals. Ideally under 5’8”.

DEMETER (FEATURED SINGER – MUST ATTEND DANCE CALL)

Female, Playing age 21 - 30.

A neurotic, but highly intuitive cat. Demeter is one half of the duo who sings ‘Macavity’. An excellent and experienced dancer with very strong mezzo vocals. Maximum height 5’6”.

MUNGOJERRIE (DANCER/VOCALIST – MUST ATTEND DANCE CALL)

Male, Playing age 20 - 25. 

Mungojerrie is one-half of a notorious double act. He is cheeky, irreverent, young and full of energy. An outstanding dancer with acrobatic skills. Excellent vocals with bags of personality. Maximum height 5’10”.

RUMPLETEAZER (DANCER/VOCALIST – MUST ATTEND DANCE CALL)

Female, Playing age 20 - 25. 

Rumpleteazer is one-half of a notorious double act. She is cheeky, irreverent, young and full of energy. An outstanding dancer with acrobatic skills. Excellent singing vocals with bags of personality. Maximum height 5’6”.

SYLLABUB (DANCER/VOCALIST – MUST ATTEND DANCE CALL)

Female, Playing age 19 - 23. 

Young, curious and loves life. An excellent technical dancer. Must have beautiful clear soprano vocals with a choir boy purity, Maximum height 5’6”.

VICTORIA (DANCER/VOCALIST – MUST ATTEND DANCE CALL)

Female, Playing age 20 - 30. 

Victoria is young, uninhibited and inquisitive with a beautiful physique. An outstanding dancer with excellent classical training. Must have exceptional extension and facility. Maximum height 5’6”.

FEMALE ENSEMBLE ROLES (DANCER/VOCALIST – MUST ATTEND DANCE CALL)

Females, Playing age 20 – 30. 

Outstanding dancers with excellent ballet/jazz technique and training. Must be strong singer/dancers as all named ensemble roles will come with various principal understudies. Some require excellent acrobatic skills (please highlight on resume). Additional ensemble roles: Cassandra & Tantomile.
