Principals: Outstanding singer/actors with ability to sing both musical theater and pop/rock genres. Good movement skills a plus. Principals (Featured Singers) hired for WIZARD OF OZ (3-4 performances weekly) will also perform in an original Royal Caribbean Signature Production onboard the ICON of the Seas (3-4 performances weekly). Candidates must be available and willing to travel internationally aboard our ships.

Ensemble: Outstanding dancer/singers with strong technical, contemporary and commercial abilty. Acro/tumbling a plus. Also seeking excellent sing/actors with good movement skills, and ability to understudy principal roles. Ensemble hired for WIZARD OF OZ (3-4 performances weekly) will also perform in on original Royal Caribbean Signature Production onboard the Icon of the Seas (3-4 performances weekly).

Female, 18 to 25 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 15-18)
Mezzo-Soprano G3 to E5 / Good Mover. Dorothy is a young unappreciative teen who lives on the Kansas prairie with her Aunt & Uncle. She dreams big and longs for adventure, Dorothy is brave and feisty but with a kind, caring and accepting manner. she is loyal & protective to her dog Toto who sometimes feels like her only friend. Dorothy is honest, open and supportive, a real ray of light to all she meets, except of course The Wicked Witch of the West!


SCARECROW/HUNK (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, 20 to 28 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 20-28)
Baritone D3 to G4 / Great Physical Dancer. Hunk the farmhand has all the character traits of the Scarecrow. The Scarecrow is a non-human character who is zany & fun with a joyous, light hearted manner, full of energy he is totally protective of Dorothy once she befriends him but has a fear of Fire!


TIN MAN/HICKORY (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, 24 to 32 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 24-32)
Tenor D3 to G4 / Good Solid Dancer (Basic Tap a plus). Hickory the farmhand has all the character traits of the Tin Man. The Tin Man is a magical character, strong and statuesque and completely made of metal! The Tin Man is heartfelt, emotional and sensitive but practical, upright and strong.


COWARDLY LION/ZEKE (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, 24 to 34 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 24-34)
Baritone C3 to G4 / Good Physical Mover. Zeke the farmhand has all the character traits of the Lion. The Lion doesn’t realise his own strength and place at the top of the Animal Kingdom, cowardly, meek and fearful of everything which is hidden behind the bluster and roar. Very funny and sometimes negative but eventually heroic and strong.


PROFESSOR MARVEL/GREAT OZ (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, 30 to 50 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 30-45)
High Falsetto to G5 / Mover with Style. Marvel is an old Kansas City Showman, a bumbling but charming storyteller who travels state to state carving out a living peddling his fake magic. Oz is bombastic and magnificent! Intimidating, powerful and fearsome, until we discover he’s actually the good humoured humbug Professor Marvel.


THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST/ALMIRA GULCH (FEATURED SINGER)

Female, 28 to 38 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 28-38)
High Mix Belt A3 to F5 / Good Dancer. Gulch is a mean, vindictive, bitter & cold person of status & wealth, who is ultimately lonely behind her snobby veneer. The Wicked Witch is vengeful, bitter & oppressive but also strangely beguiling and attractive with a dry wit!


GLINDA THE GOOD WITCH/AUNT EM (FEATURED SINGER)

Female, 28 to 38 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 30-45)
Mezzo-Soprano G3 to A5 / Good Mover. Aunt Em is a steady no nonsense mother figure who is always busy and tired, she worries for Dorothy and cares greatly for her. Glinda is gracious, wise and wonderfully kind, a protector and guiding light for Dorothy. Wonderfully beautiful and magical!


UNCLE HENRY/OZ DOOR MAN (FEATURED SINGER)

Male, 32 to 48 years old; all ethnicities (Playing Age 32-45)
High Falsetto to G5 / Decent Mover. Uncle Henry is a hard working & proud farmer, he has strong integrity and an aged wisdom. Oz Doorman is odd, quirky and quick witted who is more knowing and knowledgeable to the inner workings of the Emerald City than he lets on to.

WHEN ARE THE AUDITIONS FOR MATILDA AND HER CLASSMATES? Auditions will be held in October and November 2024. We will audition children for the role of Matilda who are aged 8 to 12 and under 4ft 3. Her classmates need to be aged 8 to 13 and under 4ft 10” tall with brilliant dancing and singing skills! Boys must have unbroken voices. WHAT WILL I HAVE TO DO IN THE AUDITION? You will be asked to bring a short poem or monologue to perform, to sing something and you will be taught a dance from the show. WHAT IF I LIVE OUTSIDE LONDON? We need to cast children for all the roles within travelling distance of the theatre so they can live at home and attend their own schools. You need to live within one hour of Central London. All children must be available for the entire rehearsal and performance period. We are producing a short video to showcase the local area around Fenchurch Street and we are looking for a guide / presenter. It will be a scripted piece with a mixture of pieces to camera and voice-over in a dead pan / comedic way as we hear about the past, present and future of the area. The shoot will be 2 days and we are hoping to shoot around 23rd / 24th October, but could be the following week depending on availability.
